CARE USA Food Security and Livelihood Development This project addressed the health and well-being of IDPs located in Mukjar, Kass,Bendisi and Nyala towns and also the settlements of Um Dukum and Juguma. New boreholeswere drilled, hand pumps installed and existing boreholes rehabilitated. A community-basedsystem for maintaining the hand pumps was established and 1,000 new latrines wereconstructed.
